CHARMINAR:

Surrounded by narrow lanes the Char Minar, was built by the fifth the King Muhammed Quli
Qutub Shah, in honour of his wife, Bhagmati. The famous monument derives it's name from the
four pillars surrounding the structure.
Hyderabad as a has seen many ups and downs.It was in 1591 that one of the most
remarkable monmuments of Hyderabad was constructed. The height of these minars are 180
feets. This structure with a arch of 56 meters was built to commemorate end of Plague in the
state. Elegant balconies, stucco decorations and the small mosque adorns this structure. This
mosque is one of the oldest mosque in Hyderabad. From the minars one gets a very good
view of the city. It is said that an underground path is connected the Charminar with the
Golconda fort.
Charminar is surronded by markets and many other structure which adds to its grace. Shahali
Banda, Laad Bazar, Kali Kaman and Patthar Gatti flank charminar on it is four sides. The
structure here show mixed Indian and Mughal archtectural styles.
